Katie Abdul-Haqq, Owner

Katie has been a group fitness enthusiast ever since becoming a mother in 2007. She recognized that to be the best version of herself at home, she needed to step out of the house to exercise with like-minded people while being guided through a class from an expert in the field. As a former dancer, yoga was easy to fall in love with. Katie especially enjoys the mental and philosophic branches of yoga, and tries to weave in bits of ancient wisdom throughout her yoga classes.

In 2023, Katie decided to create Delta Yoga in her hometown of Hampshire. She intends to build the type of studio she has always wished existed in this corner of Kane County!

Katie’s other interests include gardening, designing, cooking, walking with her husband, and pretending to enjoy learning how to swing a golf club.

Kim Matzl

Kim has enjoyed practicing yoga for several years and is excited to share her passion and experience with others. Her classes are sequenced to develop strength and flexibility with movement and breath. She offers students an opportunity to practice and explore in a safe and warm environment. In her class, you can expect to unwind, breathe and find your edge.

Kim teaches all styles of yoga at Delta Yoga.

When she’s not teaching, Kim enjoys adventuring outdoors, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Cori Trolinger

Cori is a student at heart, and after her 2021 New Year’s resolution to attend one yoga class per week, she was hooked. She quickly registered for yoga teacher training, and has since added a certification in Group Fitness. She teaches vinyasa flow, sculpt, HIIT, and TRX at four locations.

She teaches all styles of yoga at Delta Yoga.

Cori is a hair stylist with two salon suite locations, and is always enrolled in continuing education for hair and fitness.

In her free time, you can find Cori golfing, snowboarding, reading, and spending time with her dogs.

Joyce Smith

Joyce is a classically trained (former) dancer who was first introduced to Pilates as a student and continued to use the method to help keep her body healthy and conditioned as a professional dancer. As a teacher she uses her background in ballet, modern dance, Pilates, and other mind-body modalities to help clients develop and maintain healthy, mobile bodies. Gentle in nature, Joyce believes in meeting people where they are in the moment, and offers the space, support, and encouragement to find their way through movement that allows them to thrive both in and out of class.
Born and raised in the northwestern Chicago suburbs, Joyce has also lived in Minnesota, New York City, and Nashville, TN.  In addition to Pilates Joyce loves teaching ballet, helping to stage ballets, and offers website and marketing assistance to studios and organizations. When not in the studio, Joyce can be found looking for a great cup of coffee, a good new book, and fresh flowers.

Megan Royer

Megan found yoga in a time when she was looking for purpose and a creative outlet. She quickly fell in love with the physical and mental challenges that yoga brought, and knew it would forever be a part of her life moving forward. She feels passionate about educating others on the benefits that yoga brings, not only physically but mentally, and loves to watch the yoga journeys of those around her unfold. With her focus on breath to movement, her classes allow each yogi to tune into their own bodies and allow their breath to guide them through each pose, which creates a judgment-free and fun exploration of the practice.

Outside of yoga, Megan loves to read books, ride her bike, try out new recipes in the kitchen and spend time in nature with her family.
